A Brilliant Light

The night is so dark

The watchmen called to me on the wall

I asked him

What do you see, son of man?

He told me of marvelous things

How can this be?

The night is so dark

The stars are fallen

All is black

If not for fire and light

I wouldn't see my own feet

"The Light is coming!"

He calls to me

Echoing for what seems like centuries

It isn't yet time for the sun

Yet I see the beam

Splitting the sky

On this dark and evil night

It's been dark for so long

I don't remember the day

Yet this glory cleaves the heavens

Tearing the veil of the atmosphere

Ripping the doom descended upon us

Indeed it is Him!

It is my best Friend

Like lightning ripping from the east

To the west, a glorious fest!

The King has returned

I can barely hear the shofar sounding

Yet my hopeless heart hears Him clearly

And hope warms and softens the rock inside me

Me and so many watchmen cry for joy

Shepherds weep with relief

Virgins dance in the street

Our oppression is over

Our King is come

The night is over

Rain washes us clean

And we're baptised in Holy Spirit fire

Made new, made clean

Sweet reunions

With brothers and sisters long missed

I awake, was it just a dream?

"Watchman, son of man, what do you see?"

"Deep darkness everywhere. But wait, to the east!"

"Yes?"

"I see a single brilliant beam of Light"

I hear his echo for what seems like centuries.

We're a wife and husband who love to eat what we create and live off the land as much as possible, even if only on a little less than an acre in the middle of a suburban neighborhood.  She loves to garden and create food and photography, he has a wandering soul that loves to explore, give into wanderlust, and blog about it when he remembers to.  Together they balance each other as they immerse themselves in the other's loves and desires, she is his serenity, and he is her adventure.
